Team & Role Overview

Our Legal team is responsible for building the corporate guardrails, transactional frameworks, and intellectual property structures that protect and accelerate humanoid autonomy. We are looking for an Associate General Counsel, Commercial to design, negotiate, and advance our global commercial agreements, partnership architectures, and transactional strategies.

This role focuses on developing modern legal frameworks across hardware, software, and data—spanning strategic supplier agreements, cutting-edge IP licensing, compute infrastructure procurement, and real-world deployment contracts—directly impacting how our embodied AI systems safely scale in the real market.

Responsibilities

• Contractual Architecture: Design and develop structured commercial templates, playbooks, and contract structures tailored for rapid scaling across hardware, software, and professional services.

• Strategic Negotiations: Build and execute complex, high-stakes commercial agreements, leading negotiations for master supply agreements (MSAs), joint development agreements (JDAs), and technology partnerships.

• Multimodal Legal Fusion: Advance cross-functional legal strategy, ensuring tight alignment between hardware engineering (custom components), AI research (data training/IP ownership), and global supply chains.

• Risk Capability & Mitigation: Improve legal risk-mitigation frameworks in areas such as product liability, cross-border data privacy (embodied data collection), and long-horizon commercial commitments.

• Transactional Lifecycle: Work across the entire contract lifecycle, from initial draft research and custom prototyping of complex legal structures to final execution and ongoing compliance governance.

• Collaborative Safeguards: Collaborate closely with supply chain managers, engineering leaders, finance, and executive teams to integrate scalable legal guardrails into the full operational stack.

• Regulatory Rigor: Design evaluation frameworks and legal risk matrices to monitor evolving international trade laws, dual-use regulations, and AI compliance standards to guide corporate iteration.

• Paradigm Development: Contribute to the creation of entirely new legal and commercial paradigms tailored to the unique liabilities, data collection models, and deployment risks of frontier humanoid robotics.

Requirements

• Advanced Commercial Legal Experience: Significant experience practicing law, with a proven track record designing and executing complex corporate and commercial transactions within high-growth tech, hardware, or deep-tech sectors.

• Modern Tech & IP Understanding: Strong understanding of inbound/outbound technology licensing, hardware manufacturing supply chains, cloud/compute infrastructure agreements, and intellectual property frameworks.

• Performance through Innovation: Experience improving transaction velocity and operational scaling through creative contract structuring, clear legal playbooks, and iterative operational experimentation.

• Professional Credentials: Qualified lawyer entitled to practice law in Spain (or a relevant European jurisdiction) with outstanding academic and professional credentials.

• Analytical & Drafting Rigor: Exceptional legal drafting rigor, absolute attention to structural details, and the ability to find clean solutions under tight timelines.

• Corporate Engineering Mindset: Solid organizational skills with the ability to build reliable, highly organized, and maintainable contract tracking and corporate compliance systems.

• Autonomy & Ambiguity: Elite ability to operate independently and drive order through highly fluid, ambiguous legal landscapes involving first-of-their-kind technological deployments.

Bonus Qualifications

• Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles, or Aerospace Background: Experience handling the specific legal complexities of physical mechatronic products, automated logistics, or safety-critical hardware deployments.

• Frontier Data & AI Literacy: Familiarity with the legal nuances of machine learning datasets, open-source software compliance, generative AI licensing, or European/global AI regulations.

• Global Footprint Scale: Proven success structuring international supply, distribution, or foundry agreements spanning Europe, Asia, and the Americas simultaneously.

• Hyper-Growth Technical Scale: Experience working at an elite law firm followed by an in-house role inside a fast-scaling deep-tech startup, frontier AI lab, or world-renowned tech manufacturer.
