Team & Role Overview

Our Operations & Supply Chain team is responsible for scaling the global hardware infrastructure, sourcing strategies, and manufacturing pipelines that power humanoid autonomy. We are looking for a Global Supply Manager, Mechanical to design, secure, and advance our end-to-end global supply chain for custom mechanical components, structural elements, and advanced mechatronic enclosures.

This role focuses on developing strategic supplier ecosystems across complex mechanical disciplines—spanning precision machining, casting, structural metals, carbon fiber, and custom actuation components—directly impacting the structural integrity, weight optimization, and scalable production of our humanoid robots.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing Architecture & Strategy: Design and develop global sourcing strategies for custom mechanical components, subassemblies, and specialized materials to ensure supply continuity.

• Supplier Ecosystem Building: Build and scale a world-class network of manufacturing partners, leading full lifecycle engagement from initial technical qualifications to commercial deployment.

• Commercial Fusion & Negotiation: Advance commercial agreements, including master service agreements, pricing frameworks, capacity guarantees, and lead-time optimization.

• Capability & Cost Optimization: Improve mechanical unit economics (COGS) through deep should-cost modeling, design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews, and yield improvements.

• Lifecycle Management: Work across the entire product lifecycle, from initial engineering prototypes and low-volume tooling to high-volume manufacturing and factory scaling.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with mechanical engineering, structural dynamics, quality assurance, and NPI teams to integrate cutting-edge mechanical designs seamlessly into the production pipeline.

• Rigor & Supplier Evaluation: Design supplier scorecard frameworks, auditing processes, and performance metrics to evaluate vendor behavior, capacity, and quality reliability.

• Paradigm Development: Contribute to the development of new, highly agile global supply chain paradigms tailored specifically to frontier hardware and high-performance embodied systems.

Requirements

• Advanced Sourcing Experience: Experience designing and executing global supply chain strategies, vendor management, or technical procurement for custom mechanical hardware.

• Modern Manufacturing Understanding: Strong understanding of custom mechanical manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, injection molding, casting, stamping, complex mechatronic assembly).

• Performance through Innovation: Experience improving cost structures, capacity commitments, and production yield through creative vendor sourcing and operational experimentation.

• Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in parsing 2D/3D engineering prints, utilizing ERP/PLM platforms, and managing data via advanced Excel, SQL, or specialized supply analytics.

• Commercial Rigor: Strong financial and legal acumen, sharp negotiation skills, and an analytical mindset that thrives on detailed data and contract structures.

• Systems Engineering Mindset: Solid organizational skills with the ability to build reliable, highly visible, and maintainable tracking matrices for component pipelines and cost tracking.

• Autonomy & Ambiguity: Ability to operate independently and establish predictable, high-performing supplier channels within a highly fluid, deep-tech engineering environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Robotics, Automotive, or Aerospace Background: Technical experience sourcing high-precision structural parts, gears, custom linkages, or advanced actuators for dynamic physical systems.

• Global Footprint Expertise: Existing relationships and established experience working directly with precision manufacturing vendors across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

• Frontier Technical Literacy: Ability to hold deep technical design reviews directly with mechanical engineers and vendor tooling experts to solve production bottlenecks.

• Hyper-Growth Hardware Scale: Experience managing capital expenditure (CapEx) for specialized injection or die-cast tooling in fast-scaling startups or elite advanced engineering environments.
