ONHUMAN is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. Our goal is to build embodied AI systems that can perceive, reason, and act in the real world. ONHUMAN is headquartered in Madrid, Spain, and this role requires 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
Team & Role Overview
Our teams span across ONVULC AI Research, Hardware Engineering, and Operations & Supply Chain. We are looking for exceptional, hyper-driven pioneers to submit their profiles for future openings across our full humanoid autonomy stack.
Whether your expertise lies in training multi-modal foundation models, architecting high-torque density mechatronics, or managing complex global supply chains, this track is designed for individuals who possess a deep-tech mindset and want to directly impact the scalability and intelligence of physical, embodied AI.
Responsibilities
Architecture Design & Execution: Lead and develop core systems within your vertical (AI modeling, mechanical design, software tools, or operational infrastructure) to support autonomous humanoid robots.
System Optimization: Build, scale, and optimize architectures that improve robot capabilities, whether through training data loops, structural mechatronics weight-reduction, or corporate financial models.
Cross-Functional Fusion: Advance deep, collaborative pipelines across AI pretraining, hardware dynamics, simulation, supply chain, and deployment teams to integrate advancements into the final robot ecosystem.
Capability & Robustness Expansion: Improve system capabilities in areas such as processing efficiency, mechanical lifespan, edge-inference latency, or vendor lead times.
End-to-End Lifecycle Ownership: Work across your discipline's full lifecycle, from raw foundational research, custom wireframing, and rapid prototyping to production-intent scaling.
Data-Driven Rigor: Design strict evaluation frameworks, experiments, and internal matrices to analyze performance, catch regressions, and guide fast iteration cycles.
Paradigm Evolution: Contribute to the creation of entirely new, industry-defining paradigms tailored specifically to the massive physical market of general-purpose robotics.
Requirements
Elite Technical or Operational Background: Extensive experience designing, training, or executing complex systems within high-growth tech, hardware, deep-tech, or elite research industries.
Modern First-Principles Understanding: Strong, fundamental mastery of your specific domain's modern tools, engineering architectures, or structural operational frameworks.
Performance through Innovation: Proven track record of improving speed, accuracy, margin, or processing performance through highly creative architectural execution and rapid experimentation.
Proficiency in Domain Frameworks: High mastery of industry-standard tech or operational stacks relevant to your field (e.g., PyTorch/Python, SolidWorks/NX, Advanced Modeling/ERP, Figma).
Uncompromising Rigor: Exceptional experimental and structural rigor, extreme attention to detail, and a metrics-driven approach to solving infrastructure bottlenecks.
Systems Engineering Mindset: Solid documentation and organization skills with the ability to build reliable, repeatable, and maintainable systems for fast-growing environments.
Autonomy & Ambiguity: Elite ability to operate independently and drive elegant, clean structure into highly complex, fluid, and first-of-their-kind technical problems.
Bonus Qualifications
Embodied AI & Robotics Context: Experience working closely with physical-digital feedback loops, complex mechatronics, automation systems, or spatial telemetry data.
Frontier Ecosystem Scale: Background working inside hyper-growth deep-tech startups, world-renowned AI research labs (e.g., OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Anthropic), or capital-intensive hardware manufacturers.
Large-Scale Infrastructure: Experience managing distributed training frameworks, global multi-tier supply networks, complex asset capitalization, or massive hardware assembly lines.
Publication or Patent Record: Documented record of industry-leading innovations, patents, or peer-reviewed publications in machine learning, mechanical mechatronics, or advanced engineering.
